About

Hi, and welcome to RV in Utah

Friendly, practical trip help for anyone pulling a trailer or driving a motorhome through Utah’s red rock country.

I’m Jana Francis. I’ve had this little corner of the internet for a long time, and I’ve always wanted it to be a place where Utah travelers help each other out.

Utah is an amazing place to see by RV, but it has its quirks: historic park roads with size limits, campgrounds that fill months ahead, and beautiful spots with no water, no hookups and no cell signal. The tips here are meant to save you from learning that the hard way.

What you’ll find here

  • A parks guide with RV and trailer rules for the Mighty 5, each linked to the official source.
  • Packing lists you can actually use, including a checklist you can tick off.
  • Daily tips and tricks for trailers and motorhomes: leveling, water, towing on canyon roads.
  • Utah travel notes on how to string the parks together and where to slow down.

How I keep it honest

  • Park rules are checked against NPS and Recreation.gov pages, with the month I checked. When I can’t confirm a number, I say “check the park” instead of guessing.
  • Some Amazon links are affiliate links, so I may earn a small commission if you buy through them. The RVshare, Outdoorsy and Good Sam buttons are plain links for now because I haven’t joined those programs.
  • Nobody pays to be featured in a tip.
